Whale Watching

Up

We went on a whale-watching cruise with San Diego Harbor Excursions on the 18th of February 2003.  It was tremendous fun.  A naturalist from the Birch Aquarium at Scripps comes on the cruise and tells about the Pacific Ocean and its wildlife.  On the way out of the San Diego Bay, the captain points out interesting sights and gives you the stories behind them.  Two of the aircraft carriers were in port, so we got to see those.  The ocean was a little choppy, but not bad.  We saw a number of dolphins, but no whales.  Since they guarantee a whale sighting on every cruise, we got coupons for a free cruise whenever we want!  We're looking forward to going again.
