Your local needlework store may be able to order the materials you are looking for to do Schwalm embroidery.  If not, you can visit the stores listed below. 

Coton a Broder in sizes above #16 are very difficult to find in the U.S.A.  I will post sites as I find them.  Be aware that in the U.S.A., this thread is also called Broder Special or DMC Brilliant Cutwork  and Embroidery Thread. 

United States

Accomplishments Shop
Perrysburg, Ohio
Accomplishments specializes in high quality, hard to find supplies for all types of hand embroidery, including counted thread, needlepoint, white work, crewel, and goldwork.  They also sell needlework books including some of the items in the Schwalm bibliography.  They do carry linen suitable for Schwalm embroidery; however, they no longer carry the Coton a Broder in sizes above #16 (as of 11 Feb 2003). 
The Heritage Shoppe
Oconto, Wisconsin
This store is devoted to fine hand sewing and embroidery.  In addition to supplies, they also sell classes in various techniques including Schwalm embroidery.  The site also features essay and examples about a variety of embroidery styles highlighting styles that are not currently widely practiced.  They sell some linens and Anchor Coton a Broder (#35 and #40). 
Jenny June Fancy Work
Ruston, Louisiana
Jenny June Fancy Work is a shop for the surface embroiderer and needlelace maker and those interested in needlework history and technique.  They carry linen suitable for Schwalm. 
Kaleido Stitch
Madison, Alabama
This shop specializes in European styles of needlework. Their aim is to introduce lost techniques that will encourage many to look at needlework in a new way.  They only sell kits featuring Schwalm. 
The Lacemaker
Warren, Ohio
The Lacemaker specializes in lacemaking supplies.  They do not carry linen fabric, but they do offer Coton a Broder in sizes #12 through #40. 
Lacis
Berkeley, California
Lacis offers an extensive selection of threads, ribbons, tools and supplies for the textile arts.  They are the English-language publishers of Renate Fernau's Schwalm Whitework.  They sell the Coton a Broder (#12, #16, #20, and #25) but not the linen. 
Lacy Susan
Dumfries, Virginia
This store specializes in lace making supplies, so they do not sell linen, but they do sell the Coton a Broder in sizes #12, #16, #20, and #25. 
The Nordic Needle
Fargo, North Dakota
The Nordic Needle carries an impressive array of counted thread materials especially for hardanger.  They currently carry a limited number of Schwalm kits and books. 
Threadneedle Street
Issaquah, Washington
Threadneedle Street appreciates the many different forms of hand embroidery and caters to customers who feel the same.  They carry a number of books including some of the items in the Schwalm bibliography.  They sell linen, but are selling only their existing supplies of  the Coton a Broder #12 and #16. 
Van Sciver Bobbin Lace
Ithaca, New York
Another lace making supply store that carries the Coton a Broder in sizes #12, #16, #20, #25, #30, and #35. 

Australia

The Crewel Gobelin
Killara, NSW
The Crewel Gobelin is located outside of Sydney and offers classes as well as supplies.  They stock the Coton a Broder in sizes #12, #16, #20, and #25. 
Stitcher's Corner
East Victoria Park, WA
Stitcher's Corner specializes in cross stitch, tapestry, and embroidery supplies.  They stock the Coton a Broder in sizes #12, #16, #20, #25, #30, and #35. 

Canada

Andjareena's Place
Trenton, Ontario
Andjareena's Place carries items for a number of crafts.  They stock the Coton a Broder in sizes #16, #20, and #25. 
Gitta's
Mississauga, Ontario
Gitta's aims to be your one-stop stitching shop.  They stock the Coton a Broder in sizes #12, #16, #20, #25, and #30. 
Raoul Vennat Embroidery

This store offers variety of materials including linen suitable for Schwalm Embroidery.  This site is in French. 
Traditional Stitches
Calgary, Alberta
Traditional Stitches is primarily an online shop, but they invite you to visit if you are in the area.  They carry the Coton a Broder in sizes #12, #16, #20, and #25.

Germany

Karin's Stickstube This store offers materials and classes, plus some lovely pictures of different techniques.  Worth an online visit to see the pictures even if you do not read German.  This site is in German. 

New Zealand

Needlecraft This store offers books and a couple of Schwalm kits as well as a host of New Zealand embroidery magazines. 

United Kingdom

Silken Strands
Gwynedd, North Wales
This shop is primarily a mail order business.  They carry the Coton a Broder in sizes #12, #16, #20, and #25.
