Our old neighborhood is called University Heights. It was one of the original "suburbs" of San Diego. Now it is a community with craftsmen, galleries, and artisans. We have restaurants, shops, and parks within easy walking distance. If we wanted to be a little more ambitious, we could even walk to Balboa Park (San Diego's Central Park) which is home to the Zoo and many museums.
